Monthly Competition

Rules for the Monthly Membership Meeting Competition (Begins Now)

1. Entrants must be a member in standing with paid membership dues.
2. Entrants must be present at the meeting or their artwork will not be accepted.
3. Only one entry is allowed per member.
4. Entries must not have been a winner in a previous monthly competition.
5. Entrants must be registered in to enter the competition.
6. All entries must be submitted by 7:30pm, as entries arriving after that time will not be accepted.
7. Entries will either be entered into the Novice/Intermediate or Advanced Division.
8. All new members may select the division they wish to participate, however once selected, all
members entering a division at the beginning or during the membership year will remain in the
same division until the end of the year. Any member may change categories within the same
division at anytime and any award points earned will count toward their division Artist of the Year
point total. The one exception is that that any advanced division artist may elect to change to an
intermediate category where they did not achieve their advanced recognition, however any points
earned while in the intermediate category will not count toward their advanced division point total,
but the points shall be tracked separately and the member promoted to the advanced division in that
category under the provisions of rule number 9.
9. The two artists in the Intermediate Division with the most points at the end of the year shall be
recognized as an Intermediate Artist of the Year and promoted to the Advanced Division
10. Entries will be submitted into the appropriate category, which includes Acrylic/Oil, Watercolor
or Mixed Media.
11. The name or signature of the artist on all entries shall be covered prior to and until judging has
been completed.
12. There must be at least three entries in a category or the two categories with the fewest entries
will be combined, or all three if necessary.
13. First, Second, and Third Place ribbons will be awarded in all categories of three or more entries.
14. Points shall be awarded as follows: First Place – 7 points, Second Place – 5 points, Third Place
3 points, Entry Only – 1 point, Popular Choice – Ribbon Only.
15. The two artists with the most points in the Advanced Division shall be recognized as Artist of the
Year and receive a certificate of appreciation and published in the Club’s Directory.

Rules for the Marguerite E, Lee Gallery Competition (Begins in September)

1. The competition for the Marguerite E. Lee shall be held in the months of September, December,
March, and May
2. Entrants must be a member in standing with paid membership dues.
3. Entrants must be present at the meeting or their artwork will not be accepted.
4. Only one entry is allowed per member.
5. Entries must not have been a winner in a previous Marguerite E. Lee competition.
6. Entrants must be registered in to enter the competition.
7. All entries must be submitted by 7:30pm, as entries arriving after that time will not be accepted.
8. Once submitted, all submission must remain at least until the next monthly meeting, meaning no
artwork may be removed or changed at any other time, although we’d like ll artwork remain until the
following judging..
9. All submissions must be framed and properly wired and no saw tooth hangers will be accepted.
10. No artwork shall weigh more the 25 pounds.
11. All submission shall be judged in a singe category.
12. First, Second, and Third Place ribbons will be awarded
13. Points shall be awarded as follows: First Place – 7 points, Second Place – 5 points, Third Place
3 points, Entry Only – 1 point, and count toward the artist’s point total in their respective division toward Artist of the Year
